Into The Light is the first mini album by LIGHTSUM. It was released on May 24, 2022 with the song "ALIVE" serving as the title track.

The physical album is available in 2 versions: "The Class" and "The Team".

This marks LIGHTSUM's final release as an eight-member group, prior to the departures of Huiyeon and Jian on October 25, 2022.

“	"LIGHTSUM's first mini album Into The Light colorfully features the emotions of the members as they jump into the scene where they are led along with the 'melody of light.' In addition, it is worth noticing the expansion of their universe in the trailer that continues from their previous singles with 'Light' being the medium, in line with the group's aspiration to deliver hopeful positive energy. Seasonal growth in various aspects is also expected as it is the group's first mini album to be released. The concepts of 'The Class' version reinterprets the high-teen style with a funky school look, while 'The Team' version clearly captures their very own energy with a lovely sporty look. Furthermore, the music video whick evokes a dreamlike and pleasant imagination along with the enriched storyline with 'ALIVE SCHOOL' as the background is combined with a more powerful performance, showing the standard of a high-teen crush. LIGHTSUM's first mini album Into The Light represents Gen-Z's desire to be honest with the feelings we now face. Besides the title track, B-sides with a wide range of genres such as R&B and alternative-pop are filled with stories full of teen spirits. Background

On May 6, 2022, LIGHTSUM posted three teasers across their social media accounts that hinted at a potential comeback - their first in over 7 months. Two days later, a teaser revealed the album's name, format, and release date.
